French Canadia....as the kids keep calling it....

So I learnt some new things today as we were DETAINED at Immigration and Border Patrol into Canada.....

a) Glenn REALLY doesn't like the French. Or, apparently, people who SOUND French (but actually aren't).
b) That extendable baton that Glenn bought for amusement's sake isn't as funny as you'd think when trying to explain it to a Customs official with ZERO sense of humour.
c) "Forgetting" to mention other things on board and then watching customs search your vehicle is quite tense.
d) Don't share your concerns in front of the children unless you want them repeated LOUDLY immediately after you whisper them.

So after a very tense period at the gate (sans passports because they took them and disappeared, presumably to do background checks on the dodgy Aussies who tried to sneak through the heavy vehicle entrance and were forgetful and carrying contrabanned) we thought this might be all we saw of Canada....

All's well that ends well, and despite the fact that Glenn spent a good two hours (NOT kidding) muttering "French Bastards" under his breath in a very bad French accent, we are here in Canada, freezing our backsides off and getting whiplash looking at the amazing scenery....here's a taste.....

We're off to find somewhere to stay for the night, we just stopped at Maccas for their wi-fi! Stay tuned for more adventures!
